🚄 Abia State Governor Alex Otti has announced that South-East states, alongside some neighbouring South-South states, are working on plans to develop a regional railway network aimed at reconnecting major commercial and industrial hubs across the region.

🗣️ Speaking during his monthly media briefing in Umuahia, Governor Otti revealed that discussions on the proposed railway project are already underway. He explained that Abia State suspended its earlier light rail initiative to align with the broader regional rail vision, describing the project as one that would deliver greater economic benefits through regional collaboration.

🌍 If realized, the proposed railway network is expected to improve the movement of passengers and goods, boost trade, strengthen regional integration, create jobs, and accelerate economic development across the South-East and neighbouring states.
